A Journey into HTML, CSS, and CBR Web Design
This past quarter has been a whirlwind of learning and discovery in the world of web design. I've delved into the fascinating realm of HTML, CSS, and even started exploring CBR web design principles. Let's reflect on my journey:
My biggest breakthroughs this quarter involved mastering new HTML tags. I finally grasped the nuances of <frame> , ordered lists ( <ol> ), unordered lists ( <ul> ), and the power of nested lists. Understanding these elements significantly improved my ability to structure and organize web content effectively. Beyond HTML, I also gained a foundational understanding of CBR (Content, Behavior, Representation) and its different types. This broadened my perspective on web design, moving beyond just aesthetics to consider the underlying structure and functionality.
While the learning curve was steep, the biggest challenge I faced was the sensitivity of HTML tags. One misplaced character or a forgotten closing tag could lead to frustrating errors, often requiring significant debugging. My work on the CBR web design project presented another hurdle. Since it was my first foray into CSS, I often relied on trial and error ("tae" method as I call it!), painstakingly tweaking the code until I achieved the desired visual outcome. This method was time-consuming and sometimes inefficient.
To overcome the HTML tag challenges, I started paying meticulous attention to detail. I also adopted the habit of carefully checking my code for errors before running it. For the CSS challenges in the CBR project, I turned to YouTube tutorials. These videos provided invaluable insights into CSS syntax, structure, and best practices. I learned to break down complex styling tasks into smaller, more manageable steps, making the process less overwhelming.
Moving forward, I plan to solidify my understanding of HTML and CSS through continued practice and exploration. I'll focus on refining my debugging skills to efficiently identify and resolve errors. I also want to explore more advanced CSS techniques, such as responsive design and animation, to create more dynamic and user-friendly websites. The CBR project has sparked my interest in user experience (UX) design, and I'd like to delve deeper into UX principles to improve the overall user experience of my future web projects. I'm excited to continue learning and growing as a web developer! shorter
great! you learned a lot during the 3rd quarter.
